Description

Made in the USA, the Rubicon Blade is a carbon weave resin impregnated “blade”. The carbon weave extends through out this paddle, it does not end at the throat. All Rubicons weigh between 7.8 and 9.3 (please contact us if you have a specific weight request) ounces so you may request a desired weight range. It has the biggest sweet spot available – so we didn’t sheer weight off by downsizing the head.

This pickleball handle is an oval shape.  We deliberately designed this with a flatter surface so it does not twist or spin in your hand.

Our pickleball tape is of high quality, made to protect the edge of the Rubicon in the same way one protects a tennis or racquetball frame.

This blade reads “THE DIE IS CAST” on one side.  And the Latin for Caesar’s comment “ALEA IACTA EST” is on the other side.

I didn’t realize how amazing this new Rubicon Blade was until the others in my club started “borrowing” my blade to try it out and then I would continue play using their conventional graphite or compressed cardboard paddles. With the Rubicon, I hit harder, had more control over the soft dinks, and controlled my spin shots with more precision. Having a paddle without an edge is great! The oversized and padded grip is a welcome upgrade to the traditional handles. This paddle is lightweight and easy to play with for hours. I highly recommend it!

I’ll qualify my comments first by saying I was on board for the early prototype testing of these blades.
At first I missed the pop of my Spike’s Paddle, but soon appreciated the control of the RiverStyks Blade.
I also wanted to support a Made in U.S.A. home town product, which was a double bonus for me.
The black color is kind of cool too, exuding mystery and apprehension. Hey…that’s worth a few points right there!

If you love pickleball, you deserve the best. I believe it’s the RiverStyks Blade

My pickleballing is done at the Winona, MN YMCA, and various outdoor courts in the area.

I just came back from the Delaware Senior Games. The ‘Blade’ was a big hit…although I was only able to hit in the Lobby with the representative..I could feel the difference immediately . I play with the popular Z5 and love the paddle. I am trying to get the ‘Blade’ sent to me as a limited demo usage…..love the look. If it as good as the hipe……I will own one. I also teach Pickleball here in St. Mary’s county Maryland

LOVE THIS BLADE! Ordered the Rubicon demo and knew after the first night playing with it that I would be ordering one for keeps. Control and maneuverability are outstanding. The lighter weight allows for lightning quick forehand to backhand adjustment. Edgeless design and even weighting throughout the blade make for a superior product.

It’s hard to find the right paddle combination of power and control. The Rubicon comes about as close to perfection as you can get. This is my third paddle, my first was to soft with no power, the second had the power but was hard to control, the Rubicon was just right! I also like the clean graphics and leather grips. The handle shape took a little getting use to, but once you go flat, you won’t want to go back.

I am a 69 year old 4.5 player that plays 3-4 times per week indoors and outdoors. I bought my first Rubicon in 2016. When I began playing with it I was not totally convinced it was worth the extra money because it just felt and sounded different from the graphite paddle I had been using, but I continued to use it for about 6 months. Then I decided to switch back to my original graphite paddle for at least a week or so to ascertain the difference. That lasted exactly 3 points. My Rubicon felt so much more solid that I just could not stand to use my original graphite paddle. I resumed playing with my Rubicon and after a year the finish started to dull on the sweet spot, so I ordered a second Rubicon. I like everything about my Rubicon except that I wish I could get it in a smaller grip because I have small hands.

    Hello Rod,

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We are in the process of looking into customizing our paddles and blades to accommodate special grip requests. In the future, feel free to call us and we can see if we can engineer a smaller grip size. We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on our products.

Thank you from Team RiverStyks…..where “Every Day Is Game Day!”
